A proposal to build some wind turbines near where I live has got some people seriously investigating the problems - low frequency noise and blade-throw (where the blade comes off and skewers your house) seem to be the primary concerns(and I agree they're significant. Sadly environmental issues are taking a definite back seat and I fear they'll just be glossed over in the long run.
